Caring for our Coast

What do beaches mean to you? Have you ever imagined a life without an incredible coastline of sandy beaches?  The California coast holds many different meanings in the hearts of those who visit. These areas we frequent serve as places of recreation, relaxation, and habitat to many different forms of life.

The protection of our coastal ecosystem is vitally important for the collective enjoyment of those who visit, as well as the preservation of its’ inhabitants.  Factors such as coastal development, oil spills, pollution, and sea level rise, due to climate change, all have negative effects on the radiant and powerful coastline that we have all grown accustomed to.  With these negative factors invading the beaches of our beloved coastal areas, future predictions show that one day, we will not have the same pleasures of walking across sandy beaches or paddling out into waters free from plastic bags and other pollutants.
